XOXO Sauce was born out of necessity during the pandemic, when Vela's Head Chef, Marvin Flores Palomo, found his restaurant struggling under the weight of widespread closures.

Drawing from his extensive travels across Asia, Palomo crafted a unique sauce that fused the flavors and techniques he encountered on his journeys. What began as a personal culinary experiment soon captured the hearts of locals, earning widespread acclaim and ultimately expanding to multiple storefronts across the city.
